Light The Way for students at Bowden Brompton Community School

12 Jun 2019

Vicinity will be holding a fundraising initiative called Light The Way to raise funds for our corporate charity partner, Beacon Foundation.

The student driven fundraiser will be held on Wednesday 19 June at Castle Plaza between 9am and 5pm with a Donate for Delivery service. For a gold coin donation you can have your shopping bags delivered from the centre entrance to your car door within the Castle Plaza carpark area.

On the same day we will be hosting a raffle to win a centre gift card valued at $250. Tickets can be purchased with a gold coin donation and available from the customer experience desk, south entrance near OPSM.

About Beacon Foundation
Beacon is a national not-for-profit organisation that works to motivate and support young people transitioning from education to meaningful employment. Beacon already play's a key role in our Community Investment Program which focuses on youth disengagement and unemployment.

Funds raised from Light The Way will be used by Beacon to deliver a range of programs in disadvantaged communities that keep young people engaged at school and prepare them for work.

Students - Light The Way
To create a worthwhile learning experience, we decided to include the students in the decision making process for our Light The Way program.

Centre Manager, Rebecca McDonald and Retail Marketing Manager, Joel Anderson from Vicinity partnered up with Teachers Tom Liggins and Kylie George from Bowden Brompton Community School.

The students came up with the concept of Donate for Delivery. They also created their own marketing materials and will volunteer their time to take part in the Donate for Delivery service.

Donate for Delivery and the Raffle ticket sales will be located at our customer experience desk at the entrance opposite the OPSM store between 9am – 5pm on Wednesday 19 June.
